Frequently asked questions
Do adults need to stay?
Yes, please! The Makers is a self-guided experience designed for children and their grown-ups to explore together. One adult may accompany and supervise up to two participating children, remaining close and actively involved throughout.
How long should we allow?
We recommend allowing approximately 60–120 minutes, depending on how immersed your little maker becomes. There's no need to rush or complete every atelier. Follow their curiosity and see where it takes you.
Do we need to arrive at a particular time?
Not at all! Our doors are open for two hours, and you're welcome to arrive at any point during that window. The experience finishes at the advertised closing time, so arriving earlier gives you more time to explore.
Does my child need to bring anything?
Just their curiosity! We'll provide all the creative materials, tools and a Wonder Pouch for collecting little discoveries and taking creations home. The pouch is theirs to keep.
Can siblings attend?
Absolutely, if they're aged 4–8! Each participating child will need their own ticket, with one grown-up able to accompany up to two children. To keep the experience safe and enjoyable for everyone, we're unable to accommodate younger siblings, including babies and toddlers, within the creative space. If you're visiting with younger children, we invite them to explore the beautiful Abbotsford Convent grounds with another grown-up and reunite with their little makers afterwards.
Will children take their creations home?
Yes! Children can take home their own creations and little discoveries in their Wonder Pouch. They'll also be invited to contribute a piece to The Wonderer, our evolving collective artwork. These special contributions will stay behind, becoming part of something bigger that grows with every little maker.
